Published 1683: the whole Bible in rhyming couplets condensed into 196 pages. Complete Beginning with Genesis and ending at Revelations With "An Old Mans ABC". of 2 pages at the end + A Table of Weights and Measures Mentioned in Scripture. And a 4 page Epistle Directory at the front and a 4 page dedication to Sir Robert Spencer Knight & a 4 page Translators preface. Condition: Original mottled calf, new or later endpapers, title page may have been relaid and trimmed close? The spine is quite worn with loss to leather surface and head and tail worn down. Some minor browning or age toning to pages and odd nicks to page edges and the odd light damp line to edges. A VERY GOOD+ copy a very scarce unusual Bible for children to absorb the essence in an alphabet game and easy to read format *** The book came from the library of J. Rendal Harris an Ancient Egyptian Language expert who lectured in Birmingham until the early 1950's and who discovered ancient papyrus in Egypt in the 1920's-30's which is now in the BM and held in his name.
