London.: W. H. Rock & Co., 1830. 1st Edition . Original paper boards . Very Good/Not applicable. A boxed card game consisting of 42 stencil or engraved printed cards depicting the monarchs and their dynasty lineage from the Conqueror to William the IV. With two printed folded sheets of paper that hold small square counters and others that should be cut down, but still remain on their respective sheets. The item is still in it black embossed and blind stamped box. There is no lid, but the wear at the edges and the lack of wear down the four sides would indicate their never was a lid? Cards measure 9 x 6.3 cm. ALL very clean and straight corners remain unworn. ALL cards firm and NO creases. RARE and beautiful early 19th century Game/Teaching Aid. Ends at William the 4th, so dates to c1830-35. ** There was a set sold in London similar published by Wallis of London, game and card printers and publishers. This dated to c1830 also and the last card ended at William the 4th. (as does this set). An earlier version was printed and produced by a Mrs Haugh of Doncaster and a Mrs Hoole and were sold solely by them. They Only went up to George the 3rd. I cannot find any other examples or recorded examples of this particular game being sold in recent times. Very scarce. And in nice clean superior condition.

Redlands, California: Pure Gold, [1955]. Stapled wraps. Very good. [12p.] Small chips to wrap edges. The Mutual Orange Distributors (MOD) was founded in Redlands, California, in 1906 as a cooperative marketing association representing citrus growers in California. Within a few years, the coop included citrus growers in western Arizona. In 1955, MOD changed its name to Pure Gold, originally the brand name for fruit grown by the approximately 2,500 MOD growers. Sunkist took over the Pure Gold trademark when the co-op closed in 1987 due to housing developments replacing the citrus fields and the shrinking number of packing plants. This booklet explains the history of the citrus-growing culture in California and Arizona and provides information on the variety of oranges, lemons, and grapefruit grown and their cultivation and packaging. A map on the back shows the regions represented by the Pure Gold cooperative. Scarce, none located in OCLC. B&w illustrations and halftone photographs. (11"x8-1/2")

He graduated from Amherst College in 1872. In 1873 Adams traveled to Europe to study and write. In 1874 he then moved to Heidelberg, Germany to pursue the Ph.D. degree. There he was influenced by Johann Gustav Droysen and Johann Kaspar Bluntschli, the latter also becoming his mentor.
