Dodd, Mead & Co., New York, September 1975. ISBN: 0396071856. Measures approximately 6.25 x 9.25 inches (16 x 23 cm). Hardcover, 314 pages. FIRST Edition. Blue boards with silver lettering on spine. EX-LIBRARY Copy. POOR condition. Honestly, this book has seen better days. Clearly a popular title that has been well read. But, it is a scarce edition. According to 'Wayne Valero's Collector's Guide to Clive Cussler', this particular edition only had a print run of 5,000 copies, of which approximately 3,200 were sold. Heavily bumped, rubbed. Cocked/slanted spine. Skewed. The boards have significant shelf wear (i.e. the cloth is rubbed off down to the underlying boards) along the top and bottom edges. Chipped/torn. Numerous library stamps, check-out dates on front pastedown, title page and along page edges. Library stamp along top page edge (lined through with black marker). Letter/numbers stamped on bottom page edge. The first two pages (front endpaper and next page (half-title page ?) have been cut out. There is a number, which has been blacked-out with a marker, on the top corner of title page. There is an approximate 2 inch cut at the bottom of the title page, near the hinge. Soiled/stained pages/page edges. Page 129/130 is torn and repaired with tape. Brown coloured stain (moisture?) visible on inside page at hinge near foot, visible from approximately page 213 to last page/rear pastedown. The dust jacket is protected in a library archival book jacket cover that unfortunately has been glued to the pastedowns. It too shows considerable wear. Bumped, rubbed, chipped and creased. There are some closed tears (measure 1/2 inch or less) along the head of the spine. There is a library sticker (author's name) affixed to the foot of the spine. The dust jacket is not price-clipped, shows original price of $7.95. Additional photos and/or answers to specific questions available upon request. Weight (before packaging): 675g(1.5lb).

New York, Grove Press, 2022, trade paperback, 272 pp, Advance Uncorrected Proof (ARC), New. Straight, tight and clean with no wear or markings in bright, pictorial card covers, no dustjacket as issued. The pieces in this collection, written between 1956 and 1961 and including short fiction, a radio play, and a stunning early novel, offer startling insights into Cohens imagination and creative process. Cohen explores themes that would permeate his later work, from shame and unworthiness to sexual desire in all its sacred and profane dimensions to longing, whether for love, family, freedom, or transcendence. Description:
New York: Random House, 1959. Book. Illus. by Sam March (dust jacket design). Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition.. Small octavo. Humes's second novel, following 'The Underground City,' both of which led to his being considered by Esquire magazine as having the same promise as two obscure guys named Updike and Styron (whoever they are). Anyway, he met a guy named Leary who introduced him to a little substance known as LSD, and after seriously indulging his fondness for the hallucinogen he became a trifle paranoid and a bit delusional, which pretty much ended his writing career. Humes was co-founder (with Peter Matthiessen and George Plimpton) of The Paris Review. He died of prostate cancer in 1992. Black cloth w/gilt lettering, 184 pages. Mildly cocked, light general wear, in price-clipped dust jacket w/light rubbing, light edgewear, creases to fore-edges of both flaps..
