Title page lists printer but no publisher. Marbled endpapers split at hinges and thus a little shaken, but holding well. Red boards embossed with bright gilt title to front. Short title handwritten to spine. Boards rather worn and dulled to edges and spine. This is a charity sale on behalf of Friends Of Morston Church (reg.1099831). 12mo. 157pp + extensive unpaginated index.

Rare 1st edition, 2nd printing copy of this classic work. Ex-library with some stamps and markings. Some color fade on top edges of book, but otherwise good with clean unmarked text - except for two markings on page 19 (see picture). Comes with original dust jacket in acceptable condition - significant edge wear and fade - see pictures.

OCLC shows five holdings (Hou. Pub. Lib.; Texas St. Lib. & Arch.; Texas Tech.; UT-Austin [2]). Lightfoot was Attorney General of Texas; general counsel for Wilson and Company, Chicago meat packers and then was partner in the Ft. Worth firm Lightfoot, Robertson, Saunders, and Gano. He was a Mason and a member of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and is buried in the State Cemetery in Austin.

Langley, B.C., Canada: Omega Publications, 1982 As the title implies, this is a proposed model constitution for Canada, written by a former Social Credit/Progressive Conservative MP and an American constitutional lawyer with Canadian connections. It includes a constitutional history, a critique of the constitution repatriated by Pierre Elliot Trudeau and a proposed replacement. It raises many issues arising in this Covid era, and has a very definite 'Made in Alberta' slant. The text is very clean, square and solid, the cover is rubbed at the edges and has a light crease to the front and a crease and a one inch tear plus crease to the lower back cover.
