Description:
Toronto: Pagurian Press Ltd, 1975. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. A near fine copy --tight and clean except for an inscription for the owner on the front endpaper. This is an amazing collection of some of Kurelek's paintings, all in color interspersed with charcoal drawings. The theme is joy and each of the images is exactly that. They capture the joy of a fresh snowfall being enjoyed by small kids or a fierce grizzly sliding down a glacier. Kurelek was a well-travelled artist whose paintings cover scenes from all across Canada and not one painting leaves out the humans who live in that part of the country. (Unfortunately, Kurelek died of cancer at 50, in 1977.).
