About the author

Jack Winnick has spent most of his 40 year career as an academic, deeply involved in foreign affairs, centered mainly in the Middle East. He has been part of a US led team of technical experts who have established liaison with counterparts in the Arab world. The goal has been to bring about enhanced quality of life in the region through utilization of scientific and engineering expertise. This effort is involved travel to the area and establishing collaboration with colleagues in the Arab countries. Winnick has been interviewed on many television and radio shows. His editorials have appeared in a number of prominent periodicals, including a front page piece in the Washington-based newspaper "The Hill." He has called upon this wide knowledge base in writing East Wind.
