The price-intact dustwrapper is lightly chipped and worn around the edges. Couple of closed tears to the base of the rear panel.

New York: Random House, 1939. Early Printing. Hardcover. Very Good +/very good. 4to. Early printing of the great Doctor's third book with bright yellow boards printed in red on the front panel. Crease to front endpaper else a very handsome near fine copy. The clipped dustwrapper is from the second state with Horton Hatches The Egg advertised on the rear flap with a $2.00 price. Only the first two books by Seuss are mentioned on the copyright page. The dustwrapper has a couple of smallish triangular chips at the base of the front panel and some smaller wear at spine tips. Very nice example of this early printing.
