The spine & the corners of the covers are rubbed. [24] pages, including 23 color illustrations by Kate Greenaway. Printed by Edmund Evans. There is an a previous owner's gift inscription on the half-title. Very good.

The almanacs were advertised as available in calf or French morocco for $1.00 or in hand-painted covers for 75 cents and cloth for 25 cents.

Original black pictorial boards over dark brown spine cloth. Bright orange endpapers with yellow tinted page edges. Hinges professionally repaired with sympathetic tinted japanese tissue (addressing cracked gutters, a common failing with this title). Minor wear otherwise to the extremities. Previous owner gift inscription on front flyleaf. Minor soiling to 2 middle pages, browning to half title and last pages and the usual mild offsetting of the colored illustrations to the opposite pages. Boards. Printed by Edmund Evans. A variant of Schuster & Engen's first issue (9:7a), here with orange endpapers instead of bright yellow and dark brown spine cloth instead of black cloth.
