London: Cecil Palmer & Hayward, 1916. Quarto, 77 pages, plus publisher's ads. First Edition, in original brown cloth with pictorial cover and pictorial paper spine label. Four full page color plates by Frank Brangwyn, including frontispiece. Beautifully printed in black with a tan ornamental border on each page. ORIGINAL DUST WRAPPER, repeating the cover design of the book as well as the spine label. The book is pristine and the dust wrapper is nearly so, astonishingly bright and unfaded. A few tiny marginal chips, entirely as issued including the original red price sticker of 7/6. Occasionally it will seem to be far easier to locate a limited edition of a book than the trade edition in pristine condition. Such is the case with this book. A superb copy of a handsome book reflecting the Arts and Crafts period of design.

Fery good, with lightly worn extremities, some rubbing to the marbled boards, minor foxing throughout, one loose plate in vol. 1and two loose plates in Vol. 2. Prev. owner name on front endpaper, is Sutton Fulford, and obviously 19th century. Gilt stamped brown leather, with 5 raised bands, and black spine labels. fore edges also marbled. The Nonesuch Press. London. No Date. 1927. FIRST EDITION. Large oblong 8vo. (10.2 x 7.7 inches). Finely illustrated with line drawing on the title page and 20 full page colour lithographs by Elinor Darwin accompanying the verses of Bernard Darwin. Original beige paper covered boards with wave, fish and border decorations and reproduction of one of the book's illustrations in blue on front cover. A very good, bright and clean copy with small amount of chipping to the top of the spine and minimal rubbing and bumping to the extremities.

Published (for the Proprietor) by Bradbury & Evans. London. 1849. Fifth Edition, with considerable additions and corrections. 8vo. (6.9 x 4.6 inches). Hand finished colour printed frontispiece and several small engravings throughout the text. Neat previous owners inscription, dated 1852, on the front free endpaper. A very good copy in original green cloth binding with blind stamped decoration and ruled lines to spine and boards. Spine lettered in gilt. Front board with floral gilt border around gilt lettering. Yellow coated endpapers. All edges gilt. Spine is a bit faded and edges rubbed but generally still quite bright. Inner hinges cracked but still holding firm. Overall a near very good copy of this attractive and in formative book.

Macmillan and Co. London. 1908. EARLY HUGH THOMSON EDITION. 8vo. (7.4 x 5.2 inches). 40 full page line illustrations by Hugh Thomson. Publishers original salmon cloth with decorative floral design to front board and spine in brown, lettered in gilt. All edges gilt. Some minor offsetting to blank endpapers but internally clean and bright. Some marking to the rear board but still overall a very good copy. Becoming increasingly difficult to find in collectable condition in the publishers cloth.

ROBINSON, W Heath. 1st Heath Robinson Illustrated Edition 18.8 x 25.5cm red cloth with a white panel to the centre of the front board and gilt stamped titles and decoration to the front and spine. Top edge red, xii 288 (2) with 16 tipped in coloured plates with captioned tissue guards and 88 black and white illustrations. The boards are clean and bright with some fading to the spine and a little pushing to the spine tips. Internally, there is a gift inscription dated 1916 to the front free endpaper, a small 1 cm bruise to the bottom edge of p176 not affecting the image and with no loss and occasional very light marking.
