1952. Holograph manuscript on two leaves of white wove, three-holed, loose-leaf paper measuring 9 1/2 by 6 inches. At the bottom of the second leaf, in Frost's hand, the work is inscribed "Robert to Fred" (i.e. Frederick B. Adams, Jr.). A life-long bibliophile, Adams was the director of the Pierpont Morgan Library from 1938-1969. This poem first appeared as Frost's Christmas greeting for 1952 and was not actually released until July 4, 1953; it was later published in Frost's last collection, In the Clearing. Adams's label on the front cover of his archival folder dates this manuscript to November 1952, and there are sufficient variant readings to suggest that Frost was still revising the poem when he presented these leaves to Adams. Early Arabic manuscript possibly copied in Yemen, dated 689 H., 1290 AD. complete copy in 200 p. of one of the earliest works on this subject. In red morocco ornamented full leather binding, 17th or 18th C. The manuscript is in mint condition.
The earliest and the most important work in this genre is undoubtedly Kitab asbab al-Nuzul ("Book of occasions of revelation") of Ali ibn Ahmad al-Wahidi (d. 1075 CE). al-Wahidi mentions occasions of about 570 verses out of 6236 verses of the Quran. Wahidi's work is not only the first attempt to collect all the material regarding the occasions of revelation in one single volume, but it is also the standard upon which all subsequent works were based. al-Wahidi was born in the city of Nishapur and he died there at an advanced age. He was a poet, philologist, grammarian and Quranic commentator. In fact, He was considered a great commentator of the Quran of his time. His main teacher was the famous Quranic commentator al-Thalabi (d. 1036 CE) and Wahidi seems to have enjoyed the support of the Seljuk vizier Nizam al- Mulk.
No asbāb works from earlier than the 11th century are known, and it is unlikely that this genre of exegetical literature existed before then. The original typed manuscript of one of the most transgressive movies of its time. When the film had its initial release in 1975 it was genre-bending (and very definitely also gender-bending), and along with its mix of horror with musical comedy, was wildly off-putting to mainstream audiences. Of course, the road to its ultimate position as a cult classic followed.
This script bears a date of July 18, 1974, on its title page. There then follow three pages of typed notes reflecting numerous script revisions and changes in design choices, all of which had been made in the subsequent two months. There are over thirty changes notes, making this an especially interesting version to study.
Russo, pp. 52-53: "The 'gayest' film yet made by a major studio... Its most expert satire is of the age-old fear with which straight society encounters deviant sexuality."

Small Octavo. Bound in maroon limp calf, rubbed, scuffed, and well used but still strong. Internally a little grubby and smudged by handling, much as might be expected of a working kitchen book. 22pp. of handwritten recipes, rather enthusiastically jammed onto each page as if the author was afraid of running out of space, there's a rather youthful exuberance to the putting together of this little pocket recipe book. The recipes are dominated by cakes, puddings and breads, including Raspberry Fool, and various sponge cakes, with some complex preserved meat dishes like Calves' Feet Jelly, and a recipe for Mock Turtle Soup involving a Calf's Head with the skin on. The spelling is a little erratic, the composition pretty makeshift, but that doesn't detract from it being a handy little household reference.
