London: The Caxton Publishing Company, 1905. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Complete four volume set uniformly bound in the publisher's blue hardback bindings with matching illustrations to upper covers and spines. In very good shape, just mildly rubbed with one or two very tiny hardly noticeable nicks. Contents age toned, otherwise sound and clean, no loose pages, no pen-marks. Also: not from a library so no such stamps or labels. Size: 240mm x 165mm. Thus a nice attractive set in very decent condition. Fully illustrated throughout. A significant work on the birth and development of football.
