Hammersmith: Kelmscott Press, 1894. Limited Edition . Vellum. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. One of a limited edition of 250 copies printed on handmade paper and bound in limp vellum with gilt lettering to spine. Printed in black and red with highly decorative woodcut title, and woodcut borders and initials throughout. From the family library of Maxwell Laurie (brother of the publisher, Thomas Werner Laurie) and his wife Marjorie (daughter of the governor of Burma, Sir Herbert Thirkell White) but without signatures or bookplates. Internally clean and crisp with just a few minor marks. The vellum is not as white as it once was and has a few marks; three of the six silk ties remain and three are broken. "Note, that the Greek letters in this book were designed by Selwyn Image for Messrs. Macmillan & Co., who have kindly allowed them to be used here", making this the only one of the Kelmscott Press books to use a type not designed by William Morris. Peterson A25. Algernon Charles Swinburne's 'Atalanta in Calydon' (1865) is the finest example of Victorian 'Greek' tragedy, a genre of English poetry inspired by the forms, contents, and styles of Attic tragedy.

Colorado Springs, CO: Gauntlet Press, 2022. Limited Edition First Printing. Hardcover. New/New. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Bradbury, Ray. With each of their many Ray Bradbury titles, Gauntlet Press had extra tipsheets signed by Bradbury, and those that were unused were stored. Gauntlet are now using these 'classic' tipsheets on other Bradbury books. This copy of 'Phoenix 451' has a tipsheet for 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' that has been signed by Ray Bradbury, Joe Lansdale and Peter Crowther. Originally limited to only 150 numbered copies, Gauntlet Press increased this number to 170 when a few more signed tipsheets were found. Here we have #167. In 'Phoenix 451' you will find three variations of Bradbury's script adapting his novel, 'Fahrenheit 451'. One is a musical, another for the stage, and one a screenplay. You'll also have a chance to peruse Bradbury's typed second draft of the novel, which differs from the version…

It's a thought experiment: if we tore down the barracks at military hospitals and offered incentives for Americans in the surrounding neighborhoods to quarter injured service members, what would the honest instructions…
