Prague: Karel Hašler, 1919. Octavo (23.8 × 15.5 cm). Original pictorial wrappers; 16 pp. About very good; wrappers lightly dust-soiled. First issue of this satirical journal published by the Czech songwriter, actor, film, and theatre director Karel Hašler (1879-1941). At the time of publishing, he was head of several Prague cabarets, including at the Lucerna, as advertised on the front wrapper verso. With a strikingly radical preface, both anti-Austrian and anti-Masaryk in spirit. Contributions by Hašler, Faun, Jos. Lukavský, an article "On the Jewish question," Franta Pelíšek, R. Nešvera, and others including numerous caricatures and vignettes. According to the catalog of the Czech National Library, eleven issues appeared in total. KVK, OCLC only show the copy at Harvard.
