Wilmington, North Carolina, 1918. Very good condition. A signed and stamped ticket, with the cancellation stamp of the ACL RR Co, dated February 28, 1918. Signed by the passenger L. Emily Hart, and the ticket seller. Emily Hart is designated as a white woman with single hole punch next to the printed term "white". Hart's race is indicated because this was the era of segregation on railroads, based on the 1890 Louisiana Separate Car Act. The printed ticket folds in half, with original mileage coupons still attached. Printed with purple borders, 2 1/2 x 10". The original envelope printed with the logo of the railroad on the verso; address line blank at front of envelope, and the tag line "Atlantic Coast Line, the Standard Railroad of the South". The mileage coupons slightly ruffled at fold. 5 3/4 x 3 1/2"
