Paris: J. Techener, 1861., 1861.. Good. - Octavo, marbled brown boards backed with a brown morocco leather spine, titled & decorated in gilt with raised bands on the spine. The leather is rubbed and scuffed and the spine has faded to tan. xi, [i] & 372 pages, with decorative head and tail pieces and initials. There is scattered foxing throughout. A previous owner's name is penned at the top of the front blank and an early bookseller's label is mounted at the top of the front pastedown. Good. <p>The Adventures of Reynard the Fox and his accomplice Ysengrin. The tales are followed by Paulin Paris' new research into these allegorical fables about the perpetual trickster.<p>The text is in French.
