London: James Flesher, 1662. Emblem frontispiece of the Royal Arms; Engraved title by Hertochs; 3 double-page engravings. Original full leather boards tooled in a Cambridge design; modern reback in matching leather, 6 raised bands, spine in 7 compartments, red leather lettering piece, gilt.


The textblock is darkened around the edges, a few of the later leaves have a light dampstain along the top margin; some soil occasionally; but still a very good copy. With the signatures of William Morgan of Oxford dated 1682.


Contains: Life of Charles I ; Eikon Basilike ; Papers concerning Church government, V ; Prayers used by His Majesty, VII ; Messages for peace, XXXVIII ; Declarations, III ; Letters, XLII ; Speeches, LIX.


Madan, 65, who reports that the greater portion of this edition perished in the Great Fire. Wing C0275; ESTC R9377.
