Preliminary text was sewn but is now loose. This is the garden pavillion volume of the Exposition des Arts Décoratifs , the epitome of Art Deco applied arts design. Introduction and notes on the plates by Roux-Spitz, the acknowledged leader of the architectural profession in France at the time, according to Henry-Russell Hitchcock. One hundred heliogravure plates and illustrations in the text document the buildings and landscaping of the Exposition. French pavillions and gardens by Roux-Spitz, Perret, Garnier, Patout, Süe et Mare, Mallet-Stevens, Le Corbusier (Pavillon de l’Esprit Nouveau) and others, including the Pavillion d’un Collectionneur (an adaptation by Pierre Patout of the house he had built for Ruhlmann), the Musée d’Art Contemporain, Pavillon Lalique, etc. The Austrian pavillion was designed by Josef Hoffmann, the Belgian pavillion by Horta and the USSR pavilion by Melnikoff..
