Lovely vintage bookplate on fep has Robin Hood, Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio and others near and open book on a bookshelf. Owner's name below. Bumped head and heel of spine and worn corners. Pages 242/243 and 246/247 look as if they were not cut by the publisher and were trimmed subsequently, with page 243 and 247 overhanging the other pages slightly. Binding appears a little loose at pages 152/153 where you can see the webbing through the stitches, but there are no loose pages. In a good or slightly better pictorial dust jacket, with a large chip at the crown and other light wear. Very uncommon in the lively dust jacket. A possibly fictionalized telling of the author's exploits as a reconnaisance pilot during World War I.
