Doubleday, Page & Co, January 1916. Leather. Good - Cash. Thin black leather covers, gold gilt bird in flight with a circle around it in bottom right hand corner. Title done on spine in same gold. Corners are bumped, top and bottom of spine have a few tears and pieces missing. Pages are unmarked and have color/B&W photographs of the different birds. Pages have some slight discoloration but are otherwise in very good condition, Pages are unmarked. Stock photos may not look exactly like the book.

Hardcover with dust jacket, x + 436 pages including range maps and drawings, plus photographs in black-and-white and full colour; both covers water stained and stuck with remnants of DJ, but very gently used, hardly a trace of shelf wear, still tight in binding, ink signature dated "Oct. 1934" on free front endpaper, traces of pale faded old waterstaining in the margins of about ten pages, all text pages very clean and unmarked, still a serviceable reading/working copy, but not gift quality; DJ heavily chipped, worn and torn, water damaged, but still intact and about 98% complete.
