Description:
The Grolier Society Limited, London , 1926. First Edition. Hardcover. VG/--. 9 5/8 H x 6 3/4 W x 1 1/4 . NON SMOKING STORE. My listing includes PHOTO OF ACTUAL BOOK for sale. Book Insides VERY GOOD/ Covers Very Good. Sewn binding. Boards are burgundy cloth with corners, spine and quarter boards in burgundy leather, lettering gilt. FRONT COVER has some edge wear but not worn through, corner edges are rubbed, the cloth part has a few light stains, the leather has a light, vertical scratch. SPINE is leather with the title and volume number, a leaf and an illustration of a marble column all in gilt, the spine has light wear on both vertical sides, also light wear on top and bottom with a minor bit of chipping and a 1/4 tear in the leather at spine top edge. The BACK COVER is in about the same condition as the front with a bit more wear to the leather corners. Page edges are sunned and side edges have a few stains, top edges are gilt, still shiny.
