Harrison of Paris, 1932.. 1932.. Very good. - Octavo, black cloth titled in gilt & decorated with signs of the Zodiac in gilt on the spine. The binding is lightly rubbed with a tiny hole in the cloth on the front edge of the front cover. 239 & [1] pages. Black-and- white textual illustrations by Pavel Tchelitchew. The book is lightly cracked at page 96. Very good. <p>Number 515 of a limited edition of 695 copies.<p>The colophon reads in part: "This, the tenth publication of Harrison of Paris, designed by Monroe Wheeler, has been printed in Haarlem, Holland, in September, 1932, by Joh. Enschede en Zonen, under the supervision of J. van Krimpen."<p>Text by Glenway Wescott. The Signs of the Zodiac by Pavel Tchelitchew.

Paris: Harrison of Paris, 1932. Hardcover. Fine. Black beveled buckram decoratively gilt, slipcase, 8vo., 239, (1) pages, decorations of the signs of the zodiac by Pavel Tchelitchew. One of 695 numbered copies designed by Monroe Wheeler and printed under the supervision of Jan van Krimpen at Joh. Enschede en Zonen on Dutch Pannekoek pure-rag paper. The first book to be printed in van Krimpen's twelve-point Romanee type. This copy is signed by Wescott and additionally inscribed by him to Louise Bogan and designated "Louise Bogan's copy" in Wescott's hand at the head of the colophon page. A fine, entirely unopened copy in archival mylar, in the original slipcase with cover label that is missing the front of the top and bottom panels and has two small tape repairs.

Paris: Harrison of Paris, (1932). First, Limited Edition. Hardcover. very good, embossed cloth. Pavel TCHELITCHEW. Octavo, 239 pages, black cloth, bevelled edges, extra-gilt spine, untrimmed. Ex libris Prof. Harrison Hayford, the editor for the definitive edition of Herman Melville's writings. Lacking the glassine dj and publisher's slipcase. It is curious that this copy is not signed by Wesctott. Copy number 1 of the ordinary issue: it was gifted at "Xmas to Agnes [ Mongan?, the art historian] by Lincoln Kirstein in 1932. "Tenth -and possibly the costliest -book from the press. "...although the saints are enamored of God, their affections, in Wescott's opinion, are drastically restricted -confined to God and the Church -and therefore separated from most of humanity.
