New York: Harcourt Brace, 1938. Later printing. Hardcover. Good +/good. Octavo, 269pp., illustrated. Presumed later printing, with no statement on the copyright page. A good or better copy in the publisher's balck cloth, slightly shaken, with the spine title worn away, but the contents clean and unmarked. In a good dust jacket, sunned on the spine, with some chips and tears along the extremities. This copy SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Lanchester on the front free endpaper to film critic Ada Hanifin in a contemporary hand: "Seasons Greetings to Ada Hanifin from Elsa Lanchester." Lanchester was an actress and the wife of actor Charles Laughton, and, though she had a long and successful career, probably is best remembered for her starring role in "The Bride of Frankenstein." Uncommon signed, and a nice Hollywood association copy, to boot.
