Original green pictorial cloth boards with gilt stamped titles to front and spine, 358pp +12pp publisher's ads. With a coloured frontispiece and numerous black and white images throughout. The front cover and spine title is: The Child's Own Book of Nursery Rhymes - the title page has Old Favourite Nursery Rhymes Stories and Ballads for English Children. This is an original and rare find indeed. This is full of classic and less familiar tales and rhymes and is a scarce volume that is not on Copac. I have been unable to find another copy with original boards such as this. There is some rubbing to the front boards and edges. Internally, the book has a slight separation in the frontispiece. There is also spotting inside the back board and along the front pages but not on the pages themselves. This probably results from the plate having worked loose at some point, although there is no loss to the image or title. In addition to the ads at the back of the book, there are musical scores for many of the unique Nursery Rhymes throughout. A definite rare find indeed.
