Assortment of elaborate, unique handmade artists' books incorporating original collage elements with typewritten, mimeographed, and other types of printed texts on a variety of paper stocks and weights, constructed from diverse materials including craft and copier paper, watercolor, mirror glass, stamps, wax, ink, tissue paper, linen, sandpaper, yarn, ceramic, stone, twine, and feathers, exemplifying the renowned Cuban bookmaking cooperative's lyrical and idiosyncratic productions, authors and artists represented include Gerardo Fulleda León, Rolando Estévez, José Martí Pérez, Marialva Ríos, Digdora Alonso, Leda Ivo, Frank David Valdés, Teté C. Single folded sheet of craft paper, opens to a scroll form with yarn and ribbon affixed to the top for hanging, with two silhouettes of a Classical-style warrior affixed to the backing paper, one silhouette of brown craft paper and containing the text of a poem by Alonso, the other a detailed watercolor painting, the whole work designed and illustrated by Rolando Estévez with additional collaged cut paper and watercolor elements.
