Morrisonia. N Y: Uncredited. Good with no dust jacket. 1866. First Edition. Paperback. Confederacy; Civil War; none; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 17 pages; Ex= Long Island Historical Society- color stamp. Otherwise clean. Number 24 of 26 copies printed for private circulation. Signed on limitation page by Henry B Daw[s]on [1821-1889 who is the presumed author. Dawson also published a pictorial series of the Civil war and the War of 1812. Limited edition of a memoir originally written for The Gazette, a weekly newspaper, and was printed in this volume in order to "save the record which it contains from the common fate of all newspaper articles." This work is number 24 of 26 printed pieces, although Sabin 14754 states there were 27, he sheds no further light on this piece. Measures approximately 6.5" x 10" . Held in a pamphlet binder whose covers have large chips. Half title states, "The First Flag over Richmond, Va. April 3, 1865. " Pages are generally good or better with a couple small chips but clean with no foxing or toning. Title page printed in red and black. Contents complete. ; Signed by Author .
