While the title does not indicate it, this volume contains a second work, The Book of Knowledge, which contains recipes for the liquorist, the druggist, the farmer, as well as household remedies. This work was published by numerous entities in cheap editions, on even cheaper paper. So internally age-toned, and with some foxing and soiling throughout. Pages approaching brittle, and hinges started. The sections in the second work titled Face Paints, and Hunters' and Trappers' Secrets have been excised. In soiled and edgeworn blind- and gilt-stamped brown cloth. Good only.
