1849 British China Opium War Japanese China Sea Battle Siege Cannon Illustrated
A rare, 19th century Japanese woodblock print of "Kaigai Shinwa Shūi". Kaigai Shinwa Shūi is a semi historical text of the Japnaese view of the Opium War between China and Britain based on actual events with embellishments to appeal to a broad audience in Japan. The embellishments also depict the fear of foreigners from japan's isolation.
This rare text is written in a column format with furigana for easier reading and includes illustrations of Chinese warriors, burning of British ships and opium, map, cannons, weapons, ships, and much more!

Vanity Fair is best known for full-page, color lithographs of world celebrities and dignitaries including artists, athletes, royalty, , scientists, authors, and scholars.
