NY: John F. Trow. VG. 1864. 1st Printing. Magazine. This is issue #28, April 1864. Bound in tan printed wrappers, issued m onthly. Subtitled 'Devoted to Literature and National Policy, this iss ue contains several literary stories along with an article "The Great Lakes to St.Paul" by Robert Doges; "Jefferson Davis and Repudiation of Arkansas Bonds" by RG Walker and "Our Government and the Blacks" by W m Kimball which looks at the consequences of Lincoln's recent 'Emancip ation Proclamation' and his recent order to enlist slaves through-out the Border region (and then emancipating them). A Very Good copy, maga zine has a few small edge tears to the covers, tiny chips to the spine tips and a short seam tear at the top of the front cover. Contents ar e clean, tight and unmarked with mostly white paper through-out. .
