First state in publisher's beige cloth boards with brown fiber specks, with spine lettered in brown, and brown and white image of an eye in clouds pasted on the front cover. Very Good, with light lean to spine. Cloth toned at edges and spine. Pages toned, with some corners bent, and several tiny stains to edge of page block. A nice copy, lacking the dust jacket. Shifreen & Jackson A23a.
