Light wear at extremities. Damp stain to bottom spine corner as evidenced by some faint discoloration to the boards and small damp stain visible only on bottom edge of text block. Page edges lightly tanned from age. Worn dust jacket with heavy edge wear, Chipping at extremities and a few closed tears with creasing. Cracking along hinges. Damp stain at tail of spine. Dust jacket now in protective mylar cover. 103 pages. Foreword by J. Frank Dobie. James Robert Williams was a cartoonist who signed his work J. R. Williams, and was best known for his long-run daily syndicated panel, Out Our Way.

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1951. Introduction by J. Frank Dobie. Gift inscription by author on half title page "Sincere Good Wishes To Dorothy Taylor Hughes From J. R. Williams". Printed 1951 with 'A' on copyright page. 103 pp. Brown cloth resembling wood covers. Missing DJ, but book protected by homemade plastic cover. Cover corners are bumped and rubbed to boards, edges and joints rubbed and faded, wear to cover faces. Spine is faded, tears to top spine near joints exposing board, spine ends are bent. Stains to page edges. Residue and reminants from original newspaper cartoons having been taped/glued to endpapers, both front and back. Some of the cartoons are still attached, while others have been completely removed or just pieces have been left. Pages are discolored where cartoons had been placed. Date "Feb 1953" written on half title page above author gift inscription. Newspaper cartoon adhered on back of half title page, and stain on adjoining page.…
