Stereotype Edition Greatly Improved. Book is in Fair condition. Front cover board attached by only threads at the top and bottom of spine. Cover boards have edgewear and bumped corners. Rear cover board has a weak joint, hinge still intact. Pages have discoloration and foxing throughout. Note written in front endpaper.

Covers worn and powdering, contents tanned and foxed, one rear free endpaper half torn away , pencil notations on endpapers, dampstaining to corners of a few pages, front board barely attached.

Hartford, 1830; brown full leather boards with gold spine titles; heavy corner and edge wear; heavy soiling and discoloration to boards; 16mo - over 5 3/4" to 6 3/4" tall; no jacket; heavy spotting to endpapers; flyleaf is almost completely missing; spotting throughout interior. 336 pages.

Philadelphia: Ambrose Walker, 1818. 875 pages. Leather covers are rubbed and scuffed, and show a little wear at spine ends and corners. Leather spine label is mostly missing with only "Walker" remaining. Inked name on blank front free end leaf, dated 1822. Foxing and offsetting throughout, and some moisture stains on edges. Page 17/18 with an open tear along outside edge affecting most of the second column of text. . Full Leather. Fair/No Dust Jacket.

Hartford:: Published by Silas Andrus,, 1828.. First Pocket Edition.. contemporary full sheep.. Upper corner of the last leaf torn away, affecting fewer than ten printed words. Front pastedown abraded; binding scuffed and rubbed; but tight and sound.. 16mo,.

E. H. Butler, 1857. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1857. No Edition Remarks. Unpaginated. Quarter bound leather with cloth covered boards. Moderate tanning, with light foxing and marking to pages. Cracking to hinges, causing boards to be loose. Heavy rub-marking and tanning to pastedowns and endpapers with inscriptions to front. Boards have moderate shelf wear, with rubbing and marking. Heavy bumping to corners and crushing to spine ends, causing leather to peel. Boards are loose with large split joints. Book has noticeable forward lean. Boards are slightly bowed with dents to edges.

London: Plummer and Brewis Printers, 1825. Reprint. Half Leather. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. N/a. A defective copy sold as a clean reading/reference copy. Missing the first 18 pages including the title page so I have not been able to ascertain who is the publisher or the date of publication. Circa 1825. The Lexicon is printed in 2 columns and is complete starting with 'A' and finishing with 'Z'. The appendix is also complete. This section of the book is 712 pages in length. The earlier section of the book runs from page 19 through to page 63. Early half-leather binding - near contemporary - is rubbed with around a third of the leather missing from the lower section of the spine. The corners are also rubbed. There is splitting along the front and rear innner hinges - the boards remain firmly attached but a little shaken.
