Approximately 15 plates between the two volumes, some fold out. A later, two volume edition of this encyclopedia style work, focusing on sciences, mathematics and mechanical arts, including printing, but also discussing the technology in various industries, from maritime, etc. POOR/FAIR condition. Heavy scuffing, fading and wear to the covers, with some spotting and staining. Spines very worn, with the hinges split and separating, rendering the covers VERY tenuously attached. Text blocks solid, with scattered foxing and minor soiling throughout. Many of the fold out plates DETACHED, torn, chipped, creased and worn, with some torn in pieces and presumably missing pieces.
