(Memphis): Published by the author, 1924. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author to Mrs Jon Fosson on the fly leaf. 1924, First edition. Hardcover, brown cloth. 89 pp. Very Good. Light scratching and shelfwear to the covers; spine and gilt titles there faded; clean contents; sound binding. About half of the poems are written in southern African-American vernacular. The author's aim of the book, as stated in the dedication, is to 'create a greater tolerance for, and comprehension of, this simple, kindly, but much misunderstood Black Folk.' The author, of course, was a white woman. OCLC locates 22 copies.
