2 volumes: LXIX, XCIX, 729 pp. survey of 17th- and 18th-century German art, incl. essays by Biermann, Adolf Feulner, Albert Brinckmann, and Anton Kippenberg, indices of the artists and their works with brief biographical data and descriptions, 1326 illus., and 32 fine heliogravure plates showing paintings, pastels, drawings, miniatures, sculpture, silhouettes, and gold and silver objects. Large 4to. 3/4 leather & bds., rubbed. Leipzig (Schwabach) 1914. Limited ed. The survey was published in connection with the great exhibition held in Darmstadt in 1914, which laid the groundwork for research on the oeuvres of many previously neglected artists. Austrian and Swiss artists are also included.
