It's production overseen in Milan by the redoubtable Piero Tosi, it reproduces twenty-two of the artist's vibrant, phantasmal drawings as colorful screenprints. An internally bright, most handsome example of the uncommon - only seven copies are currently cited in OCLC WorldCat - 1972 Gimpel Fils first edition whose highly acidic boards show some age-toning and spotting, and emit a faint sulfurous odor. Fine in custom folding box of oatmeal colored boards with motif of insects taken from the book on three inner flaps. An artist's book of 28 color lithograph plates and occasional text, combining charmingly whimsical characters with a disturbing story of an abusive father and a devouring mother. Niki de Saint Phalle, sculptor, painter and film maker and feminist hero. Her work has elements of Pop Art, Surrealism, folk and outsider art. Creator of monumental garden in Tuscany. Her Nanas, archetypal female figures, appear in large public installations. Museum of Modern Art PS1 exhibition in 2021.
