About This Item

1974. Unbound. Near Fine. Typed and carbon quarto sheets with three punch holes on the left margin. 12pp. Near fine with light general edgewear and some-age toning to the first sheet. A collection of excerpts from the Alan Paton's novel *Cry, The Beloved Country* prepared by Paulene Myers possibly for preparation for her role in *Lost in the Stars*, the 1974 musical screen adaptation based on the book. The pages contain four passages from the novel largely consisting of dialogue between a man and woman. Myers has made notes throughout, listing her name beside passages and underlining portions of the text. Myers, who played the part of Grace in the film, appeared on Broadway with Gregory Peck in *The Willow and I* and Joan Blondell in *The Naked Genius*, before becoming a television series regular during the 1970s in *Room 222* and *Good Times*.
