Waffe; Quedlinburg und Leipzig (Germany); 1829 The very long title of this book is: Die Lehren der Religion, erläutert durch Beispiele aus der Bibel, aus der Weltgeschichte und aus dem praktischen Leben, zur Begründung christlicher Weisheit, Tugend und Glückseligkeit, so wie zur Warnung vor Thorheiten und Sünden - and translated into English: The doctrines of religion, illustrated by examples from the Bible, from world history and from practical life, to the foundation of Christian wisdom, virtue, and bliss, as well as to the warning of folly and sins - 12mo size black and gray patterned and textured hardcover; 546 toned, red bordered pages. The text is in old German. This book is incredibly well bound. Ex-Library from Jewish religious library in Frankfort, Germany with typical antiquarian library treatments: label and stamp on inside front cover, penciled numbers on inside front cover. There's also a library stamp on the half title page. Rubbing and abrasions to covers, notably to spine. There are two worn and chipped labels on spine; worn and bumped corners.
