San Francisco: Hooper Publishing Company, (1960).. (1960).. Fair. SIGNED BY GEORGE MARDIKIAN - Octavo, cloth in a dust wrapper. The corners of the covers & the head & tail of the spine are slightly rubbed. The dust jacket is rubbed & chipped with its spine faded & with pieces out of the top edge of its rear panel & the tail of its spine. There is soiling to its rear panel & a small area of the surface of the panel is rubbed away, slightly affecting a few words of the text. x & 150 pages. The pages are darkened. Good in a fair dust wrapper. <p>Ninth printing<p>Signed by George Mardikian on the front endpaper.<p>Foreword by William Saroyan [who, as he points out, was a fellow Armenian] and Introduction by Joseph Henry Jackson.<p>George Mardikian [1903-1977] was an Armenian chef who opened his well-known San Francisco restaurant Omar Khayyam's in 1938, serving Middle Eastern, African and European dishes. The restaurant was destroyed by fire in the mid-1980s. This is a book of Armenian recipes.
