BROWNE - Octavo, two volumes uniformly bound in three-quarter red morocco leather and marbled boards, titled and decorated in gilt between raised bands on the spine. All edges are marbled. The boards are rubbed with some minor scuffing to the leather and slight wear to the corners. There is evidence of early worming to the top and bottom of the joints. ix, [iii] & 522 pages; and vii, [iii] & 528 pages. Illustrated with 2 full-page frontispieces, an extra pictorial title to the first volume, a preliminary full-page plate preceding the title page of the second volume and 36 full-page plates by H.K. Browne. An early owner's name is penned at the top of the title page of the first volume and half-title of the second volume. There is some minor light dampstaining to the top edges of both frontispieces, the preliminary plate and pictorial title. There is minor foxing to the last few pages of each volume. Good.
