Dowty, U.K, 1956. First Edition. Softcover. Very Good/No Jacket. In 1931 a young draughtsman, George H Dowty, was absorbed with ideas for improved aircraft carriages. In 1935 he set up his own company in Cheltenham making aircraft equipment. Dowty invented the first internally sprung aircraft wheel and by the time the Second World War had broken out the company was known as Dowty Aviation and was making the hydraulic systems for almost every aircraft in Britain and many in America. This publication was published to celebrate Dowty's Silver Jubilee 1931-1956. 48 large pages, size 11.25 inches tall by 8.75 inches, in light blue card covers with silver lettering. Illustrated with many black and white and coloured photographs and drawings. Book - Very Good - light bumping to the edges and corners and light marking and light browning to the card covers.
