Cloth has evidence of dampstain due to its two-toned appearance, and the gilt is dulled. Scattered foxing primarily to block edges and prelims, and some dampstains to endpage edges. Bookstore ticket to front pastedown. Unmarked, tight and square. The DJ in mylar is chipped/edgeworn, lightly soiled, rubbed to joints, and slightly foxed. May be 2nd issue DJ. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
Synopsis
In Dubious Battle is a novel by John Steinbeck, written in 1936. The central figure of the story is an activist for "the Party" (the American Communist Party, although it is never specifically named in the novel) who is organizing a major strike by the workers, seeking thus to attract followers to his cause.
