About This Item

Los Angeles, CA: DML Classics, Inc. , 1996. First Edition. First Printing.. Hardcover. As New/No Dust Jacket, As Issued.. Los Angeles, CA: DML Classics, Inc. , 1996. Hardcover. As New/None, As Issued. First Edition/First Printing. 1 pages. Rare Edison Denisov and The Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble collectible item. A pristine copy of the Classical Compact Disc (CD) recording of some of his greatest orchestral works, as performed by the legendary Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble. "Sun of The Incas" (1964) also showcases a magnificent performance by the Russian soprano Natalia Zagorinskaya. The recording was made and issued in this Compact Disc only in 1996. It is now rare. Denisov's music is sublime. Once completely unknown in the West, Edison Denisov is now regarded as one of the most imaginative and innovative composers of the Soviet Era. One of his prescient admirers was Igor Stravinsky. His music banned as "non-conformist" and "degenerate" for much of his career, Denisov lived long enough to witness Russia's emancipation from Communist dictatorship, and just as long enough to despair over Yeltsin Era corruption. An uncompromising visionary to the bitter end, he re-settled in Paris, where he died in 1996, the year of this recording. An absolute "must-have" item for Edison Denisov collectors. This copy of the DML Classics Classical Compact Disc (CD) recording of Edison Denisov's orchestral music is now collectible. As far as we know, this is the only copy of this historic recording available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: Although the CD is listed, discussed, and lavishly praised online, we have not found a single copy of the disc itself available anywhere. A rare copy thus. One of the greatest composers of our time. A fine copy. .
