Detailed Life of Napoleon's consort written by his close confidante and minister plenipotentiary, translated from the original French by D.D. Fraser. book has sepia frontispiece portrait of the Empress. Heavy toning to several pages newspaper article on plates of the era, being moved around in the book, uncut page edges,with gold leaf on top pages, previous owner's inscription first flyleaf with a date of 9-5-29, red binding with inlay of Josephine on front cover with gilt lettering to spine, some speckling to cover from biopredation rear inner spine is starting but still tight.
