Good (Ex-library w/ ID to lower spine, internal stamps, usual markings etc. lower spine torn & flapped; upper spine rubbed. boards scuffed, smudged & some spotted staining. shelf-wear/scuffing to lower textblock edge. slight split to textblock at plate section w/ evidence of previous repair. back hinge split; binding still intact, though hinge is rattled.). Brown cloth, gilt letters on spine, 164 text pp. plus 105 BW and color plates. Interior does appear clean, though, may have instances of marginalia, handwriting, etc. A rough, but uncommon copy. Photo is of a previous copy from our collection. Approaches the topic geographically, by English counties. Includes discussion of ornament, technique, and iconography; and offers views of more than 100 examples of these wall paintings.
