INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY KJELL HJERN AND HIS WIFE - Quarto [11-1/4 inches high by 8-3/4 inches wide], cream-colored boards backed with black cloth in a dust wrapper. The binding is warped & very lightly bumped & the extremities of the boards are slightly darkened. The dust jacket is chipped with the top edge of the rear panel torn. 119 pages. Profuse black-and-white illustrations, including a town plan. The top page corners are lightly bumped. Very good in a fair dust wrapper. Good. <p>First edition.<p>Inscribed and signed on the half-title by Hjern and his wife Elsa<p> Kjell Hjern [1916-1984] was a theatre critic and poet. He published five collections of poetry and many other books, most of them about art and artists related to Gothenburg. He was editor of the art magazine Palette from 1940 to 1947. This book is about times past in Gothenburg.<p>The text is in Swedish.
