The edges of the covers and the head & tail of the spine are slightly darkened. The dust jacket is lightly rubbed & soiled with the head of its spine chipped. xi & 337 pages. Color frontispiece & numerous reproductions of charts & maps in black & white. Very good in a good dust wrapper. <p>The development of cartography from the maps and charts of medieval travelers to the scientifically accurate charts of eighteenth and nineteenth century surveyors. Also the story of how Europe discovered and explored the rest of the world.
