Boards rubbed, faint ring-stain to upper cover, else Very Good, internally fine. Inscribed and signed by the author on flyleaf: "For Miss Lois Cecile [illegible] / This is a true story -- in it I saw coined [?] part of my 'old good' heart. I couldn't do it again--The inspiration [?] is gone -- The die is cast. / Yours with Good wishes / W. Lightfoot Visscher / Chicago... July 26, 1913." The Kentucky-born author's fourth novel.
