About This Item

New York: Simon & Schuster, 1987. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Fine. Larry McMurtry was a Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist but he was also an Oscar winner for his film and tv screenwriting. This collection of 1980s essays is written with both an outsider's cool, ironic view of Hollywood but, with an insider's direct experience. First edition, first printing (with complete numberline). About 6 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches, 159 pages in rose paper-covered boards with black backstrip and gold lettering. The dustjacket's front panel features an Oscar-like statuette in gold and black holding a typewriter with title and author in large red and gold letters against a blue background. The text shows small red remainder dots on all three edges, o/w boards and text are clean, complete and free of underlining or highlighting. The dustjacket shows no noticeable flaws or damage. It is not price-clipped. A book of obvious interest to film historians and McMurtry fans but also to anyone wanting an inside look at the entertainment business.
