With two Sybil Ludington postage stamps. Signed " Bud Pool / 35th Fighter Sqdn" on the address panel. Near fine. <p>Kenneth R. "Bud" Pool [1923-2011] was an Ace fighter pilot in World War II. At the age of 19 he graduated from flight training and was commissioned a second lieutenant. He entered combat with the 35th Fighter Squadron, 8th Fighter Group at Finschaven, New Guinea in January 1944. After several earlier victories, he became an ace that November when he shot down a Nakajima Ki-61 Hien while flying from an airfield on Morotai. After two years in the Pacific he completed his combat tour in February 1945. He was the recipient of two Bronze Stars, four Distinguished Flying Crosses and three Air Medals.
