Dresden, [1967]. Octavo (21 × 15 cm). Single folded leaf; [4] pp. Very good. Scarce early flier for an exhibition in Dresden of Lach-Lachowicz's work, with a preface in German by Aleksandra Gonczynska and a list of thirty-five works shown. Born in 1937, Natalia Lach-Lachowicz studied photography and graphic arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław 1957-1963. In 1970, Lach-Lachowicz, along with artists Andrej Lachowicz, Zbigniew Dłubak, and the art critic Antoni Dzieduszycki, co-founded the art group and eponymous gallery Permafo. The neo-avant-garde gallery operated in Wrocław until 1981 and was instrumental to the development of conceptual art in Poland. In this period Lach-Lachowicz expanded her art practice to include performance art, experimental film, video installation and sculpture, later also including body art. Early on Lach-Lachowicz' work was censored for explicit content, with her 1971 show at the Permafo gallery shut down by the censor after being open for only a day. By contrast her work was very well received internationally, and she continues her artistic activity today. As of August 2020, not in KVK, OCLC.
